Experience an old-fashioned Christmas at Dickens in Historic Downtown Plano, one of Plano’s top holiday events. The festivities begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, December 4 and conclude at 10 p.m. Walk among thousands of twinkling lights and enjoy live entertainment, food and drink, evening shopping, and fun holiday activities.

The highlight of the evening is a tree lighting at 7 p.m. in Haggard Park. Entertainment will include handbell choirs, singing, and dancing by local dance companies, high schools and church groups. Sample tasty treats from downtown restaurants like Urban Crust, Ye Ole Butcher Shop, Jorg’s Café Vienna and Angela’s at the Crosswalk.

A special mailbox just for kids’ letters to Santa will be available near the Interurban Railway Museum in Haggard Park. And Santa himself will welcome kids to his house on J Place from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Best part? Admission is free. And since the Downtown Plano DART station is just seconds away from the action, why not catch the train?

Dickens in Historic Downtown Plano is presented by the Plano Parks and Recreation Department.
