Military Man to LEGO Man

For a military man, one of the most pivotal points in their lives is when they decide to re-enlist or start fresh with a new career path. That’s exactly the dilemma Jason Klima was in. He was in the United States Air Force for 10 years, stationed in Hawaii and it was decision time.

Jason’s wife, Andrea Klima, and their two LEGO-loving children took a day trip to the other side of the island to a place that was new to them. Bricks & Minifigs – a paradise for Lego fans – where they buy, sell, and trade new and used Lego sets, bulk bricks, minifigs! Bricks? Minifigs? To get into the know: A “brick” is a prominent LEGO piece that resembles a brick and “minifig” is short for the minifigures, which come in a range of characters from Star Wars to Marvel Superheroes. The kids not only loved the place, but mom did too! Andrea couldn’t wait to get home and share her excitement with Jason…

They both decided it was time for a change. Jason had missed out on several Christmases with his family, and was tired of not having quality family time – all the time. Jason told Plano Profile, “I wanted to work alongside my family towards something I could leave behind one day.” Andrea and Jason found just that in Bricks and Minifigs.

Months went by and after doing extensive research, the Klimas opened Texas’ second Bricks and Minifigs – right here in Plano!

What drew them to a new venture with this company? “The business model was excellent, but what really drew us in was the support.” Not only are the franchise owners huge supporters but the company also has an online forum setup where any questions, big or small, can be asked by owners. Jason goes on to say, “This relationship and support group is invaluable.”

Rebuild, Reuse, Reimagine

Bricks and Minifigs has a motto of Rebuild, Reuse, Reimagine. “Suppose there were no local places to buy and sell used video games, books, or movies,” Jason explains. Bricks and Minifigs is a clean, friendly place to buy new and used LEGOs, talk about old sets, show off custom creations, and have LEGO-themed parties.
